Can you please tell me, how I format or even better check my sketch for mistakes in Arduino Create before I upload it?

Use the VERIFY (the big TICK) option first then check the lower console for any errors.
As sketches vary so much it would be almost impossible to say why a particular error appears.
However once you have an error message then google it and usually all will become clear.
