Forum features request

I know we have a lot of on going issues with the new forum but can a couple of features/changes please be considered.

  1. I really miss the skip to last post in thread button that was available on the old forum. I know that if there are new post in a thread you can click on it (new) to go to the first new post but if there are no new posts then you have to click the last page number then when the page has loaded scroll/jump to the end.

  2. Do we really need the 'Are you sure' prompt when 'Mark all messages read' is clicked on the main page? It's not like it falls under the mouse easily and if it somehow was clicked by accident then no big deal. It's a PITA having to click twice to unread all posts.

  3. Bring back the dropdown list when reporting to moderator. It's getting to be a bind typing spam/wrong language for forum/xpost etc.

May I suggest you break this into two separate Threads with the issue in the Title e.g. FEATURE REQUEST - Skip to last post
That way they can easily be found and can be discussed separately.

I would also like to see an obvious system so that the Arduino Forum Team could not claim they had not seen something.

I don't feel very strongly about it but I would prefer to keep the "are you sure"

I guess they feel that this is a destructive action, hence the prompt.

Did they move the 'Mark Read' button? I find my self clicking the 'New Topic' button by mistake. That one does not have the 'Are you sure' pop-up, I guess because it really doesn't change anything.

The 'mark all messages read' button I'm referring to is on the main forum page near the bottom not the one in the individual forums (I have never noticed them before). I tend to cherry pick forums I'm interested in by opening them in new tabs from the main page and then mark the rest read so I know when new posts arrive in interesting (to me) threads. Then I go off and skim the new posts in the tabs.

Bump. New feature request added and zero reply from people in the know (who matter) what they think to requests.

Are you surprised?

May I repeat my suggestion from Reply #1 to put the item requested in the title.

I have a small hope that there may be a future in which some of the Arduino team would search this part of the forum for Threads headed "FEATURE REQUEST" and, at least, consider doing something about them.

I suggest putting feature requests on github or they are unlikely to be noticed

I object VERY STRONGLY to this idea and I have said so at length in other Threads. I do not want to have to waste my time reading Github as well as this part of the Forum.

The Github space should only be used by the Arduino team as their management tool. Ordinary users like me should be able to view it, but not change it or add to it.

I want the Arduino Team to come here regularly to keep in touch with us users.

And, as I understand him, @mastrolinux has promised that the discussion will take place here and Github wlll just be used for management.
