Forum truncations...

Sometimes, the best humor is unintentional. The forum software truncates topics in a really weird way, like this on the home page. I don't know, but this looks a little kinky to me!

Probably just another discussion of LED current-limiting resistors, bypass capacitors, etc.

So i guess "a dirty mind is a joy forever".
And i also guess this tells more about you than about the forum software

Probably. But, as my son tells my grandchildren about their grandfather:
"There is more to being a pirate than just stealing boats."

Better not make any posts about sextants, then.

Wouldn't it be amusing if I actually knew how to use a sextant? I do. And a nautical almanac, and HO249. There is more to being a pirate than just stealing boats.

I was thinking that the term "first mate" was a bit weird, but in football there is a "tight end". :astonished:

I have a few of those in my office. Demo room too full! I wonder if any museums would want to take 70-100yr old sextants.

I don't know, but if they are pretty (and probably cheap), a lot of steampunks want to incorporate things like sextants into their costumes. I have one the cheap Harbor Freight sextents on my steampunk camera:

The idea is to have things in a modern cell phone in my steampunk camera, and I use a sextant and compass for a steampunk equivalent of a GPS (along with the pocket watch). And no, I don't know how to use it. I doubt those $10 sextants are accurate even if I knew how to use it.
