Forward Data From Arduino to an App

So I have an idea for a project and the basic idea is if someone is it will be able to tell if someone is sitting down (I also need a sensor for this if you know any good ones like a pressure sensor or something) and it needs to forward the data if someone is sitting down or not via bluetooth. So I have 2 questions. 1. Can arduino send that data via bluetooth by itself or will it need a rasberry pi? 2. Can bluetooth sense how far away you are from each other? if not how long is the range of bluetooth? THANKS for the help!!!

  1. Can arduino send that data via bluetooth by itself or will it need a rasberry pi?

Yes, bluetooth devices can be connected to the Arduino.

  1. Can bluetooth sense how far away you are from each other?

The range that bluetooth works over (10 meters or less) makes sensing distance nearly impossible.

Thanks for the response…
Do you know any sensor that could tell me if someone is sitting on it?
Do you know a good bluetooth module for arduino?

Why are you wasting people's time with two Threads about the same subject.

I have already made a comment about the seat sensor in the other Thread.
