FPV Camera

I would like to know is there anyone that can recommend me a small FPV camera for my Quadrotor and preferably connected to a micro transmitter. This camera is use for normal video viewing on the ground when Quadrotor is flying.
I came across this FPV camera at HobbyKing and I would like to know is this suitable for my application as well. (Radio Control Planes, Drones, Cars, FPV, Quadcopters and more - Hobbyking)

Hi kuxz!

I used a similar one on an RC truck. I just went to ebay and picked one up for about $25. It came with the wireless camera as well as the receiver (which the one on your link did not come with). Also, be sure to keep on eye on whether it is NTSC or PAL. Different parts of the world (and different portable devices) may have specifications on which is required. I see the one you looked at is PAL.

I don't think something like this would be an issue with regard to connecting to an Arduino since its voltage is right around 5v... but how would you want to connect it to an Arduino?? I know there are shields and devices that handle rough video processing, but those accept the video signals rather than electrical connections.

And also, just as an FYI.... you won't be able to do much video processing with the Arduino - just not enough processing power. You can do BASIC overlays (overlaying text on top of the video), and some other VERY basic processing work with the specialized shields (SparkFun has one), but that is about all. If your goal is to have the Arduino control the camera, itself (as in control buttons, etc.), then that may be do-able but you would need a LOT of specs on the electronic components, and most consumer product sheets simply don't have this information.
