Hi all,
I have played around with my new arduino
ethernet for a couple of weeks now and everything
worked fine. But today I feeded 12v into an analog
pin, while the analog reference was just 5v. Now I
can't upload files to it anymore. I am using the correct
com port, I have selected the right arduino and my
drivers are up to date. Could I have fried my arduino?
And if so, could I send it back for repair or do I have
to buy a new one?
I'm sorry to say, but it is probably fried and you have to buy a new one.
The analog reference has nothing to do with it, 12V is too much.
Why did you let 12V getting near the Arduino board ?
Perhaps you can buy an Arduino Mega 2560 and and a seperate Ethernet Shield.
With the Ethernet Shield, I ran out of memory quickly on a Arduino Uno.
If you want to take the risk of older design and cheaper components, you can buy them on Ebay:
- Arduino Mega 2560 : 17.50 dollars / 13.50 euros
- W5100 Ethernet Shield : 10 dollars / 7.50 euros
