I have made up an Arduino board using an atmega 328 chip and bought an FTDI to TTL cable to communicate with the computer. The pin out of the cable seems straightforward apart from the CTS pin. The general advice seems to be to leave this pin unconnected as it is not necessary. However, owing to the construction of my board the CTL pin would be connected to ground. Would this be acceptable or cause any damage?
I guess "CTL" is a typo for "CTS"? My Pro Minis, as well as the schematic for the original official Arduino Pro Mini shows that pin grounded, so I'm certainthere's no harm in grounding it.
Hi Pert, Yes, sorry I did mean CTS. Looking at that schematic it certainly seems OK to ground it. Thanks.
