FTDI driver problem

Hi

I have a computer running Windows XP version 5.1 service pack 3.

A few days ago I installed the software to run a Arduino Duemilanove microprocessor board and with that install I loaded the FTDI USB drivers that came with the Arduino software download. The FTDI USB driver (FT232R USB UART) installed just fine and I was able to COM8 was recognized as attached to the board.

Now today the board (or computer??) doesn't' find the COM port. With the board plugged in, when I look in the Device Manager I see that the FT232R USB UART driver in the Universal Serial Bus Controllers section has yellow circle with a ! in it. I think meaning that the driver has a problem. When I try to reload the driver using Windows "New Hardware Found" process the process finds the driver in the folder I have it in and try's to load it. But the load fails and I get the error screen saying "Cannot Install this hardware, an error occurred during install of the device, Access is denied.

I reloaded the Arduino software and still have the same problem.

As I mentioned above, I was originally able to load the drivers and was able to connect to the board, but now I can't

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Steve
