Full yield from the pins

Hello together,

i am very new and have one basic question for which i just couldn't find a answer.

If i connect a powerLED with resistor for 5V to the 5V-Power Source it is much brighter then connected to a PWM with 255 bytes send. How can i get 5V tension from the analog-out pin?

or different asked: how can i use a powersource and only controll the dimming through the analog pins?

You can use an additional circuit, like this:

(you don't need to put all four leds/resistors like in example, it's just an example)

And you can try using the analog output instead of digital.
