General Measurement System Design

Hi everyone.
Was just trying to think of all the sub-systems of a general measurement system. You have:

  • The measurement device (to take the analog reading)
  • The controller (to convert and calculate the analog data into computer readable digital data)
  • The user interface (to display the measurement to the user)

Are there any others I have missed?

Storage (like a SD module) and a real time clock to complete datalogging applications.

You may find the measurement device incorporates the controller already.
