General Question about LED Strips

Hello there,

So I wanted to ask a general question about led strips and hopefully someone can explain it to me in an easy understanding way.

Does someone know how these strips you can buy in a supermarket actually work?
Just for an example: LED Strip from amazon

I can see on the pictures that the strip is connected to what seems to me ground (black), current (red), datapin (green) and clockpin (blue). Now those 4 cables are going into a box. In this box might be the controller. But does anyone know what controller it is? And is it accessable (Like getting the code of it)?
The white box also provides a ir-sensor for getting the remote-signal. But you can cut the strip on those marks. How do they still work when I cut them?

I would appreciate an answer since I'd like to build something in that way too (I am already on it)

Probably not and definitely no.

But you can cut the strip on those marks.

Yes.

How do they still work when I cut them?

Only if you supply a controller of your own, like shown in the pages starting here

This particular strip as a regular 12v RGB strip with no individual LED control. You can change a color and a brightens of the whole strip only. And you need additional circuitry to do it using Arduino,
