General Question Re: Stackable Headers

My project will stack as follows:

ATMega 2560
Ethernet Shield
R1-R3 1280 2560 Prototyping Shield
TFT/LCD Shield
LCD Display

The problem I am having is when I add the ethernet shield to the 2560, I have to add another set of headers to allow the prototyping shield to clear the RJ45 jack. When I do that, the 36 pin header is lower than the headers on the side.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

Thanks,

Mike

put the ethernet shield under the 2560 ?

you can get longer pins to allow for a taller standoff.

you can remove the 36 pin header and replace it with a 90 version.

Thanks for you reply. How would I go about putting the ethernet shield under the 2560? The pins only protrude doubt 1/16" the 2560.

e-bay is horrible, and why would sparkfun not have a copy link ???? [/rant]

Thanks

I don't think I understand what you are ranting about.

Why not use this link?

It doesn't seem very long.

Where did you find this one?

What do you mean by "why would sparkfun not have a copy link ?"?

Lose everything ? . . . . . .

I went to the sparkfun page by means of google.
e-bay has a horribly long URL on any page, but you can just use the item number in the URL to get a decently short and copy/paste type address.
I have no idea why the sparkfun URL was soooo much longer than the one you linked.
but if they make a profit from people like you and I doing a copy/paste and the URL is not clickable, or copy/pasteable, then they can loose sales. it would not be too hard to put the short address on the page and title it 'share with a friend'
of course if my search to that link was so uncommon, then, the simple fact that I cannot get my sketch to light and LED means I am just in a bad mood and will find fault with the slightest thing.

here it is caused by too much code in swirls around my head....
and too little daylight.
got them working properly now.
alas, getting 4 println instead of just 1..... sigh
I wonder if I can whip up a daylight LED machine to make up for some of that lost daylight.

Can I blame reversing the power polarity on a $35 sensor on too little daylight? It's a cool sensor. I ordered another one but I'm bummed about killing the first one.

That would be my guess
