hi, for my project with an arduino i need to get de acceleration produced by an earthquake, so most of the people are going to use an accelerometer device, and to do something different i want to measure the speed, and derivate it to obtain the acceleration, so i need help to make the code. thanks C:
so i need help to make the code. thanks C:
First you need a formula.
How frequently and how many times are you going to read the speed (of what ?) and how are you going to read it ?
with a speed sensor, the idea is that measure the speed continously.
How feasible would it be?
The other thing is use a strong sensor measuring in the three axes.
float acceleration = (V2-V1)/(T2-T1);
with a speed sensor, the idea is that measure the speed continously.
Yes, but how ? What type of sensor ?
As you can see above, in order to calculate acceleration you need to measure the change of speed over time. Speed, by its very nature, is relative to something, so what will you be measuring the speed against and how, particularly as you have now introduced the idea of measuring it in 3 dimensions ?
