Getting 3.3v out of Arduino Pro-Mini 5v 16mhz

Hello all,

I have recently purchased a 5v Pro-Mini to create a smaller version of a already designed circuit
which used the UNO.

A problem I just notices is that there is no 3.3v pin on the Mini as there is on the UNO, this only
causes a problem when powering my Nokia 5110 screen and to power the my level shifter that
converts my 5v logic to 3,3v for the inputs of the screen.

So I am turning here for some ideas of how I can get around this problem.

For now I am using the 3,3v that is supplied form the USB program loader that came with the
Mini.

Thank you for the help in advanced.
I will provide additional information if needed.

Add a separate 3.3V regulator.
The promini 5V regulator is only good for 150mA, so I wouldn't use 5V from the Vcc pin to power the 3.3V regulator.

So your saying to use a separate power supply connected to a 3.3v regulator to power my screen?

Use the same supply that powers the Promini, connect them up in parallel.

Yes.
Use a 3.3V regulator from the 5V on the USB connector or better on a Wall Wart or batteries. Depending how your final project will be powered.

OH I see what your saying now.
Any suggestions for a regulator I should use from your experiences?

Also I appreciate it thank you steinie44 and CrossRoads.

Just google the words
3V3 regulator

For lots of options where you live.
