I am doing a project where i will be building a rover/car etc and i will need it to travel exact distances e.g. 10 meters. Is this possible and if so what motors would i need to use

How heavy is the car? What is the power source? Flat ground, hills? What speed?
Need you to come up with some criteria.
it will only be a scaled model for a school project to map out an area it will be run off a 9 v battery pack and it will be on flat land and speed doesn't matter. Thanks
9V as in 6xAA battery pack? Or a little square, 9V battery?
Motors like in Lego Mindstorm would work. Could probably just use that and make a wheel-tick reader to count so many wheel ticks for 10 meters.
