GitPod for Arduino

Has anyone tried enabling Arduino development using web based GitPod?

I'm aware of the web based Arduino but prefer GitPod since I do other development work there too.

I would like to be able to use GitPod in a browser and be able to upload a sketch to an Arduino using my local USB.

If no one has accomplished this yet, that's ok, I can work on it.
