Give binary values to my arduino inputs

forget what has been mentioned before

I need to give logic =1 to my arduino input so to play a sound
Need to play 9 sounds
the idea is to play around with 4 pins (4 bits) so to cover the possibilities
for exemple:
1111 --> Play sound 1 for topic 1

0111 --> Play sound 2 for topic 2

And so on...
