Gizduino Atmega328 (Arduino clone) with GSM shield having a supply of 5V, 3A.

What will happen to the board if the GSM shield is supplied with 5V, 3A? Would it overheat?

Last time i've tried the Gizduino board got damaged and could not upload. USB interface chip is very hot.
