It’s cold outside !
-45 °C last night.
Currently it’s quite warm:
This is our thermometer:
Looks like there is not a lot of accumulated snow yet either. Winters like this are good for 2 things….
we have been above zero most of the winter up here in Northern Ontario… can’t safely go on many lakes yet (unusual and not normal). So definitely looking like we are in the “warming” part of that title…
Stay warm stay safe!!!
... eaten by the mosquitoes.
Thanks for sending the cold air down our way in Central Oregon.
Our pleasure, we like helping out.
However, this cold weather came from your 49th state, Alaska.
Guess we will have to talk to them about keeping their stuff at home!
I live in California so our weather comes-in over the Pacific, but it always cracks me up when they blame, "cold Canadian air". (That's usually a report from the mid-west or north-eastern U.S.)
We've been having highs around 60 degrees F (around 15 C) and lows at night around 45 degrees F (about 7 degrees C) and I've been complaining about the COLD!!!
I LIKE THE SUMMER! And I don't complain when it's too hot because I WILL complain when it's too cold!
Oh... , I took a trip to Minnesota in the springtime once. It was raining and chilly here but not THAT cold, and it was about the same there. The people there were complaining about the cold and I was surprised because it gets a LOT colder there. But they said, "not this time of year!" I guess they'd had enough over the winter and felt cheated.
There is no such thing as Global Warming. The Earth is flat!
Oh my, -10°C, we won’t see that till groundhog day.
Your set up looks good.
I have that very same soldering iron in the garage work room.
Going to have to patent the Thermometer Winter Clock mechanism.
-10°C? That's bad in places where folks often keep their laundry machines in unheated places.
Unheated fridges are another problem in cold weather--if weather drops to fridge temperature, the fridge doesn't try to run the compressor and fails to cool the freezer compartment below fridge temp, thawing your stuff.
Some manufacturers sell "garage kits" that add a heater to the fridge thermometer to force some compressor cycling. I add a small always-on light for heat.
A freezer/fridge monitoring system and "garage kit" controller might be an useful Arduino project.
