Glow Glyphs - PCBs covered in LEDs in the shape of letters and symbols

Hi Everyone,
I made a fun new LED product that I wanted to share, I call them Glow Glyphs, they're PCBs in the shapes of letters and symbols and they can be connected together with a simple push-on connector to form your own custom sign or display. And did I mention they're covered in LEDs! You can never have too many LEDs right?

I'm crowdfunding them on crowdsupply.com. I made a stop-motion video and there's some more details on the specs. If you want to snag some for your own project or want to add them to your toolkit then considering pledging.

My own personal satisfaction really came from their creation process. I created my own little EDA tool that uses SVG files to help me semi-automatically place the LEDs along the contours of the letters, and then I built up a panelization helper so I could maximize the number of PCBs within the prototyping area allowed by the PCB fab vendors. I think the existing EDA tools are antiques when it comes to incorporating design or aesthetic elements into a PCB so I hope the Glow Glyphs can help inspire a new generation of tool builders to think not just of "function" but also of "form."

If you appreciate the project then consider pledging on crowdsupply.com or help me spread the word on social media. If you have any feedback, questions or other thoughts let me know!
