Going from Arduino Uno to Adafruit LED strip

Hello everyone. My first post over here, so be gentle with me.
First of all, I wish you are having a wonderful day.

I'm beginner at the wonderful world of Arduino. Right now I have an Arduino UNO which came with the Beginner Kit for Arduino. I have been folowing the tutorial that came with it (blink led, stop light tutorial, etc...). I'm super interested in the world of LED lighting with Arduino. I'm familiar with the concept of the using a breadboard to run some tests.

My question here is:how can I program a Adafruit LED strip like I do with the single LEDS?
How do you cut the wire and connect it with the Arduino?
For example, my big first project I would like to be a skate board to light up at the bottom with LED strips. How can I program the LED strips to display some pattern?

I would like to thank in advance for the response and the patience to read through some "dumb questions".

Please read the how to use this forum sticky post. It will tell you how to ask a question.

In you case you have not specified what sort of LED strip, there are quite a few and they are wired differently.

Hello,

I am also VERY VERY new to this, but I think a good place for you to start would be to find a project on the adafruit learning forum which will function similar to what you would like.

They have wiring diagrams, product recommendations and codes to go along with it.

Good luck!!
