anyone know any good free circuit designer? preferably cross platform (Linux Windows) I want to design a simple light array but want to simulate it first
free circuit designer ... want to simulate
That are two different things
design? read - http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1293742814 - it porposes a number of design apps
simulation ???
I have previously seen a program that will "simulate" the circuit and show if a resistor is over loaded if a circuit is running open...... Thanks for the link I am sorry I did not do a forum search.
Thanks
Searching the forum can be done in the upper right corner. Its easy and fast
thanks, I do know I was just lazy and inconsiderate not stupid
I use express PCB (http://www.expresspcb.com/). It will not simulate,
but it does PCB design and schematics. CorssRoads reconmended it to
me, and I thought I would pass it on.

check this out:
LTSpice is pretty much the standard for simulation within the hobby community, or those who don't have $K for other packages.
However, you don't need simulation for a simple LED array. You need very basic math.
