Google Cat

Hello everybody,

There is few days I am interesting in doing an electronic project using an arduino.

I would like to put a camera, a GPS / GSM module and a microSD reader directly on a cat. It permits to locate my cat and take photos in live.

Until then, I played with my arduino UNO, infrared led, relay ... but nothing serious.
I have very basic knowledge in electronic and good skill in computer science.

I would therefore appeal to you to know the feasibility of this project and the relevance of each component I choose.

For this project, I found on internet every components I might use.

Here is the list I choose :

A harness for cat :
I imagine to put all components in this kind of harness :

The board :
I think buy this board : Iduino LilyPad 328 ATmega328t :
I really don't know if this board is good but I am intesting in the small size.

Built-in USB to RS232 Transfer chip :
To put program on the board :

The battery :
The board accepts from 2.7 to 5.5 V. I think using 2 batteries of helicopter shunt-connected. The voltage is 3.7 V and 450 mAh each.
The weight of each battery is 9 grams :

The camera :
About the camera I have hesitations.
OV9655 1.3 MegaPixel plugged on his board :

OV7670 0.3 MegaPixel plugged on his board :

I don't know if the board of the camera is necessary maybe I can only buy the camera with the 24 pin socket and solder wires on it.

However, It seems to be hard to do.

GSM / GPS module :
About GSM / GPS module, I found this small module :

Antenna :
2 antennas :

I have no idea the differences between antenna between GSM and GPS.

MicroSD card reader :
For the card reader I think to buy this module :

It seems be small and correctly work.

Multiplexer :
If I need more pins on the arduino, I think buy this kind of multiplexer :

What do you think about this project ? Do you think it's doable ?

If you like the project, don't hesitate to support me.

Unless the camera provides a JPEG image, it isn't going to be usable with an Arduino based on the 328 or 2560.

Have you considered getting the cat a pair of Google glasses?

That is not true you can use SPI ram. That is what I did to get the ov7670 working with the arduino see OV7670 with both arduino uno and now mega - Sensors - Arduino Forum

Those look like Li-Po batteries, and you absolutely must not strap those to an animal, doubly so if you are connecting multiple batteries together. They contain flammable materials stored under pressure which can spontaneously ignite under reasonably forseeable fault conditions, so you should never use them anywhere out of sight and absolutely never leave them strapped to an animal.

What you're trying to make sounds a lot like a bullet cam, which can buy off the shelf for a price similar to the cost of the parts you'd need to make your own Arduino-based solution. Just don't tell your cat that the most popular models are made by a company called dogcam, OK?
