Hi there, I was wondering can someone help me
For a college project I am looking to make a system were a computer running Max/Msp can receive content from people in at a venue via their mobile phones. This content will either be photos or text messages. Is there anyway to do this with an Arduino with a GPRS cellular shield?

Not really, unless you know every persons number...
You could use WIFI with the number of phones having it increasing daily but it depends if you want everyone to get the files.
You could also use some decent bluetooth modules and do it that way- tell everyone to switch on bluetooth and then get it to automatically send things to any devices it finds, they would have to be small files though or it would take ages to send to all those people.
Can't you just have a large display or something telling eveyone the information?
