Yes. You are using a version of the IDE that is not compatible with the libraries referenced in the sketch.
I get the error" 'class SoftwareSerial' has no member named 'available' ".
It does in 1.0 and 1.0.1.
If you are using 0023 or earlier, change SoftwareSerial to NewSoftSerial.
