Hi, id like to build a tracker, I have a few doubts about the antenna(GSM and GPS) and the better device...
Question 1: The GSM device like the sim800 works without an antenna... And the GPS device, works without antenna too?
Question 2: if the GPS doesn't work without an antenna, whats better: work with the sim808 alike device(GSM + GPS) and put an antenna, or buy a sim800 device and a GPS with embedded antenna?
Question bonus: I'm a medium solderer, but I dont have any idea about solder the module on my own PCB board (if I design one hehe)
The GSM device like the sim800 works without an antenna.
It does not. It may have a built-in antenna plane, but it most certainly has an antenna.
And the GPS device, works without antenna too?
If you place the GPS within a few centimeters of the satellites, sure, it can work without an antenna. How long are you arms?
Question 2: if the GPS doesn't work without an antenna, whats better: work with the sim808 alike device(GSM + GPS) and put an antenna, or buy a sim800 device and a GPS with embedded antenna?
If you get a device that expects you to add an external antenna AND you add the proper antenna AND orient it correctly, you'll get better range than with a device that has a built-in antenna that is not pointed in the proper direction.
Question bonus: I'm a medium solderer, but I dont have any idea about solder the module on my own PCB board (if I design one hehe)
That doesn't look like a question. Questions have these funky punctuation marks at the end.
