GPS neo6vm2 module problem - does not connect to satellites unless antenna is reconnected

I am working on a project where I use the gps neo6vm2 module. I have a strange problem, namely the led on the module does not blink and does not connect to the satellites until I disconnect and reconnect the antenna.

I tried voltages 3.3 and 5 and also connecting another antenna (wifi antenna). After connecting another antenna, the module starts as it should but does not give correct coordinates.

Is the antenna faulty? Thank you in advance for any help.

I will take a SWAG and say you damaged it when connected to 5V. From what I can find it is a 2.7 to 3.6V device per data sheet: https://components101.com/sites/default/files/component_datasheet/NEO6MV2%20GPS%20Module%20Datasheet.pdf If I am wrong post a link to the correct data sheet.

Unclear from your description whether it works with the ceramic patch antenna or not.

And you did not explain what you meant by 'does not give correct coordinates' ?

if i connect and disconnect ceramic antenna after a few seconds it will give me my exact coordinates. But if I power the module and just wait without touching antenna it will not communicate.

By bad coordinates I meant "0.00000" in LAT and LNG

That is no co-ordinates, and what a GPS library will often report when there are no co-ordinates at all coming from the GPS when it does not have a fix.

Sounds like the GPS is not starting up the antenna properly somehow. Faulty GPS or antenna maybe.

I think this is a correct one

If im not wrong it says too that max is 3.6V

When I reconnect ceramic antenna when module is powered up it spits correct lat and lng.

But I was running it with 5V all the time and reconnecting antenna when it was working so there is a good chance that I broke it
