gps points strorage

hello
my intention is to build a little gps for navigation .
I found a lot of stuff on internet , but I am meeting a little problem:
My intention is to choose one of 6 points( lat-long) that would be stored
in the box ( SD or how?) the gps give the direction to that point
ie: heading, distance, and time according to the speed .
My problem is how to store and retrieve the points

Your choices are SD card, hard-coded in the sketch, or saved in EEPROM (by another sketch).

Which method(s) work with the hardware you have and your desire to change those points easily?

thanks for your quick reply .
Actually working with a sd card or in source sketch would be Ok.
I already have a SD shield.
But it would be fine to edit the stored points without too much fuss.
For instance editing a txt file .

Next to give the gps the suitable destination, I think ( I dream...)
for instance of a button opening a kind of menu , up/down and accept
one target & launching the GPS

That's a bit like telling a thermometer to not let the house get to warm. It doesn't work that way. The GPS chip doesn't care where you want to go. It simply tells you where you are. The Arduino then needs to use the current location (from the GPS) and the target location (from the SD card, as selected by the user) to determine distance and direction.

Well , it was not what I wanted to say ..it was a short cut
The process would - should be :
-choose 1 point in the data base

  • store in a variable data
    -the Gps know the current position
    -It computes the vector to the point, distance ..etc in real time
    actually I am looking how to retrieve the point and pass to the program
