GPS-RTC interfacing

I need to sync RTC with GPS. I found some sketches on the web using DS 1307 as the RTC, with PaulStoffregen DS1307RTC library.

I would like to use the DS3231 instead, since it is much more accurate. Before I try to modify the sketches to use 3231 libraries and resolve any inconsistencies, does anyone know if the above DS1307 library can be used as is with the DS3231? I would appreciate any idea.

Yes. No, you can't.

The type of RTC you use, and the library you use, has nothing to do with comparing the time from the GPS to the time from the clock.

Thank you Paul.

I am not addressing The practical application to synchronize GPS and RTC. I am addressing only the compatibility issue between both modules: DS 1307 and DS 3231. Can I use the DS1307 library with DS3231? I found some remarks on the web stating this is true. I think your opinion is important.

Thanks

Mike

The only thing you should believe is the results of your own tests.
