GPS to Live Display

I'm an Electrical engineering student working on a robotics design for remote orientation tracking.

Long story short, I've purchased a uBlox GPS, and an electronic compass; and have successfully gotten NEMA and heading data.

Question is, how to convert compass heading and GPS co-ordinates into a dot and arrow; such as the GPS on most smartphones. I've been reading through various google map code variations that others have written, but none are live, nor do they permit a heading.

If someone could send me a link or topic to look into I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks and have a great day.

To produce a dot and an arrow, simply use the graphics drawing calls, in whatever programming language is suitable for the display device.
