GPS with micro SD card shield.

Hello all, I'm new to the Arduino but I am very interesting with its limitations.
I want to make a GPS unit that sends the location to a micro SD card then I will read where its been from that SD card. Is that at all possible with stacking a GPS shield on the SD card shield?
