Grayed out Port in IDE ... ARDUINO NANO V3

Good Afternoon ,

I bought my first arduino on local market . When i plug it in a red led is lightning (not blinking) . I wrote the code , tried to upload it .... and i can't . i choosed "Arduino nano" and "ATmega 328P" , but the port is grayed out . I tried installing the software for CH340 like other said but nothing is showing up on a device Manager and port is still grayed out .

Error when uploading :

Arduino:1.8.6 (Windows 10), Board:"Arduino Nano, ATmega328P"

avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "\.\COM1":

What do i do ?

Device manager should show something when you plug in the Nano; even if it's just an unknown device ot something with a yellow triangle. If it doesn't, check the cable; it might be a charge only cable (as spycatcher2k already indicated).

It's useless trying to upload if device manager does not show the device.
