Grrrrr crappy components

[rant]
Pack of 10 caps, all marked "102" Flukeing at 2.2n so they should be marked "222".

Now you know why they were that cheap.
:astonished:

Perhaps, but then I have no idea what a cap should cost. I bought 10 because I didn't want the guy to walk all the way to the back just for 1!

So how long did it take you to figure out that the caps were marked incorrectly? That would have been the last thing I would have checked.

Flukeing

I just learned a new verb. Is that usage common in the biz?

It is now.....

Hi, while you are Flukeing , fluke three of those capacitors in parallel.
This to see if you have an offset or lead capacitance being added.
Tom.....

ps....Flukeing has been added to my spellchecker dictionary.

Could some native English speaker explain to a native Italian speaker what does "flukeing" stand for?

It's a word I invented to mean measuring something with a Fluke meter, Leo.

ROTFL XD
I spent two days trying to understand the meaning of that word...

What is the tolerance of those caps? Some of them are rated -50%, +100% might still be in spec, or you got the edge spec ones after someone else paid a bit more for the more accurate ones...

In Australia, we use "fluke" to describe an achievement by luck rather than effort or skill. For example, in soccer a player might intend to center the ball, but miss kick and score a goal. That would be a fluke!
