GSM GPRS Shields

Hey y'all,

I'm working on a project that requires me to use an Arduino to send an SMS message out with GPS coordinates inside. I'd prefer to buy one GSM GPRS shield so that I can keep the device relatively small. Does anyone have suggestions on shields (what they've used that works well, doesn't work well)? I've looked up a few shields (#1 (expensive and doesn't include GPS), #2(seems to be popular in the community?), #3(a cheap alternative found searching)) but I can't find much on how well they work to meet my needs.

Also, if you have used a SIM card that is relatively cheap but still provides good service, please share!

SIM908 from DFRobot,

I haven't tried SIM808 yet, that might be good also.

3G TinySine (SIM5320 based)
Works well - and won't die in the near future with the end of 2G networks.
