Hi guys,
Ive come across microcontrollers a while ago but only recently felt like digging down into the rabbit hole.
Im curious as to where to start with this project in terms of what to get and which controller would best suit my needs.
Here is the current project: Imgur: The magic of the Internet
It is a slip on motorcycle helmet cover, which so far has given me plenty of attention and i love the way its turned out so far.. However i feel as if id like to have some more to it.
I would like to have "led 8x8 eyes" which ive seen online a few times through an 8x8 matrix. I would like a button system that could possibly change colors and even turn it off if the local police find it .. Distracting. I would also like to have some sort of lights in the back through end light fiber optics.
So, this would all need to be fairly light, battery powered, and i would need to waterproof all of this... Im not sure if it would be possible to do all of this. I was able to find little hair clip on RGB fiber optic lights as well that I could use within this project, however they are run on botton cell batteries, and are pretty cheap and hard to replace the battery without destroying them.
If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great!
Thanks.

If the police find it distracting you can bet that other motorists will also find it distracting and irritating. Just because you can does not mean you should.

So far the Police have loved it. My buddy has one that he purchased online and hes been pulled over just for a photo!
But thank you for the consideration. I would keep the brightness turned down quite a bit to not be OVERLY dostracting for sure. But The matrix boards may be used for another project if this doesnt work out.
Anyone?
