Guidance using logic level converter 3v -> 5v

Hello everyone,

I'm building an arduino project that will be powered by a 3.7v lithium cell and recharged by solar power.
Some of the sensors I have are actually powered by 5v. Since my only power supply is 3.7v as explained, I need to convert this 3v to 5.

I've done some researches and found and bought this: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12009

My understanding is that it does what I need but I'm playing with this since last night and I could not make it work giving me 5v.

Does anyone already tried to do this ? Any idea on how can I achieve this using this ?

Thanks,

Your understanding is incorrect. It only converts logic level signals. It needs a 5V supply to work.
What you need is a boost voltage converter.

Something like this:-

Hi Grumpy_Mike,

Thanks for your quick reply, having this booster can I get the 5v without an actual 5v power supply ?

Yes that is what it is designed to do.
