Hi, (sorry for the english, i'm not very well). A lot of people have problems with Arduino and mavericks. I have a macbook pro retina, with usb 3.0 ports. The problem is that arduino is not listed in serial ports of the ice (there are only Bluetooth or trackpad). A possible solution is to use an USB 2.0 hub. Instead of connecting MAC->Arduino, try to connect MAC->Hub->Arduino. I resolved without installing FDTI drivers, simply i have connected the cable. Try it!
