H-bridge - check if broken?

Hi! I've got the L2930NE IC H-bridge, gotten from the starters kit with Arduino Uno.

I'm pretty sure it is broken, as it failes to work in a working circuit. (I've triple checked myself and asked on another forum on it, so it should work if the bridge does so)

Is there any ways of testing it if it is broken in some way? I've got a multimeter.

Thank you in advance!

Use a resistor in place of the motor, 1K or so. Place the voltmeter across the resistor and you should see a variable voltage depending on your PWM into the bridge (speed) and a polarity change (+ to - and vice versa) depending on which direction, and then 0V when it's supposed to be "stopped", That's pretty basic.
