H-bridge interfacing with LPT-port

Hi guys,
Me and a friend are building a robot which should be controlled with a computer. We are using 2 x 12V 7,2Ah batteries to run the 24V 100W motor.

We need some examples of H-bridges that can handle the current?

And one more question, we want to use C++

BUT we can't get D0 (on the LPT) to 0V, it's stuck on 2,9V.

Which command should be use to get the motor to run, lets say, forward?

D0 D1 D2 D3
1 0 0 1 Motor moves right
0 1 1 0 Motor moves left
0 0 0 0 Motor free runs
0 1 0 1 Motor brakes
1 0 1 0 Motor brakes

as you are asking this on the Arduino forum, why not use Arduino to drive the H-bridge so you can send simple serial commands from your computer to control the robot?

You can find lots of arduino projects using an H-bridge and although many of these are lower power than your app, the principles are similar.

Have you looked at the L6203 H-bridge for your app?

Well, 100 watts at 24v means you are looking at 4+ amps. Below are some commercial motor controllers. Makesure you are connecting to the correct parallel pin for D0 per the pinout below.
