hall sensor

Hi,
I try to use hall sensors (magentic sensor) like an push button. So a Magnet comes near the sensor should
get HIGH an them the Programm does something. My Problem is that the Sensor should work through an 6 Millimeter Plexiglas.
I think that my sensor is not strong enough. Maybe someone knows a stronger one which i can buy somewhere in germany?
Or has some other idears?

thx timme

There are simple magnetic switches used in intruder alarm systems that have a magnet-activated switch (called a reed switch). This may be simpler than figuring out a hall effect sensor.

try using a strong rare earth magnet... Neodymium is the strongest one

Hi,
I use really strong magnets but its still not working fine. I will try now an reed switch.
This one here looks good I think.

RS 1U-3W
Reedsensor 1xUM axial
0,25A 175V 3W d=2,2x14mm

I will post later if it works or not. Thanks for your answers.
