Has anyone converted an Xbee chip antenna to a wire version?

Hi, I'm struggling a bit with the comms on my 1mW Xbee modules - these have a chip antenna and I'm wondering if it is possible to solder a wire antenna in the hole provided bottom right of the chip antenna? If it is possible is this likely to make much of a difference?

For the 1mW versions - it's not likely to make much difference - I'd play it safe and not try personally.

You'd need to remove the chip antenna too if you soldered on a wire antenna.

I wouldn't risk bricking the XBee. See if you can trade with someone.
