I have taken apart pc monitors in the past with fully functioning lcd screens and bad lights. Do you think its possible to salvage the lcd portion in narrow sections? Lets say salvage a piece of lcd screen that is only about 5mm wide and the whole length of the monitor? Is this even possible? Would the soldering joints to the lcd grid be too small to work with without special tooling?
Thank you for the reply, from what ive noticed there are ribbon cables that connect the lcd screen to the circuit boards in the monitors. I was wondering how difficult or if even possible to cut the lcd into the 5mm width sections and still have it function. I suppose this might be quite complicated.
You are asking how to actually manufacture your own LCD screen.
