Has anyone tried M.2 modems?

I have been told that M.2 Modems are nice. But the M.2 bus seems to hold everything USB, Ethernet, BLE what ever. No Arduino could support all these. But modems are usually simple, something less is probably enough.
I can get connectors and make PCBs, but I have not found suitable spec sheet.
