How did it go with your project?
I'm considering a similar solution and just saw this thread here Tide gauge and river water level sensor ideas - Project Guidance - Arduino Forum where a slightly improved version of the HC-SR04 was used with great success it seems. So it would be great to hear your experience with the HC-SR04 if you have any.
