Having issues programming pro mini arduino?

Hi, I am getting avrdude errors when I try to program my pro mini? My hook up is this,
vcc to 5v
gnd to gnd
GRN to reset
Arduino rx to tx of pro
Arduino tx to rx of pro

I selected the pro mini 5v 16mhz 328 and used the programmer settings that I would use for an uno. All I did was follow this tutorial but I figured Rx goes to rx and tx to tx since you are programming, not trying to get them to communicate? Also I removed arduino atmega ic chip w/ optiboot.

On UNO, connect Reset to GND.
Uno to Promini
5V to Vcc
Gnd to Gnd
Rx to Rx
Tx to Tx

Select Tools:Board type:Promini 5V 16 MHz
Start the IDE download - when the IDE shows "compiled xxx ore 32xxx bytes" press reset on the Promini.
May be easier to get the timing if in the IDE you select File:Preferences and enable Verbose outputs.
