Having problems making a standalone arduino

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong ?

I am trying to program a board I made on easyeda. I am trying to put a bootloader on an atmega328p and program.

I have my easyeda board i made hooked up to my arduino uno. Sck to d13 on uno miso to d12 on uno and mosi to d11 I get the error below when i try to program. I am at a complete loss. Could use some help.

C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\ArduinoLLC.ArduinoIDE_1.8.21.0_x86__mdqgnx93n4wtt\hardware\tools\avr/bin/avrdude -CC:\Program Files\WindowsApps\ArduinoLLC.ArduinoIDE_1.8.21.0_x86__mdqgnx93n4wtt\hardware\tools\avr/etc/avrdude.conf -v -patmega328p -carduino -PCOM3 -b19200 -e -Ulock:w:0x3F:m -Uefuse:w:0xFD:m -Uhfuse:w:0xDE:m -Ulfuse:w:0xFF:m

The most obvious thing you're doing wrong is feeding ~6v from two CR2032s straight into the ATMega.
You're also missing the 100nF decoupling capacitors that the ATMega needs to function correctly.

So I added a 100nf from reset pin to D10 on the uno,

I also added a 100nf cap on my power rail vcc and gnd

getting the same error

You're also missing the 100nF decoupling capacitors that the ATMega needs to function correctly.

Do you have the 0.1uF decoupling caps from the Vcc pins to ground (as close to the chip as possible)?

Yes i do

spycatcher2k:
Remove the cap to the reset!

Tell us every wire you have connected between your Arduino and this board.

SICK1 to D13
MISO1 to d12
MOSI1 to d11
Reset to D10

  • to 5vdc
  • to gnd

Thanks for the help!

I am thinking I am going to try a new board and new chip maybe some terminals shorted ? is that common for this error. It's a surface mount trip, not sure if it's even possible to use arduino as an isp

So I resoldered a new board. I have to be doing something wrong with the ISP settings, this new boards doing the same thing.

Does it matter that I have atmega328p u-th ?

I heard there might be problems with this chip

This works and has chip ID software:

Gammon Forum : Electronics : Microprocessors : How to make an Arduino-compatible minimal board

Not sure if this will work for the SMD version, but I will try to chip IDer tonight and see what happens.

I got it to boot load! I forgot to hook up 5volt on the PCB ! Thanks for everyones help!
