Hello
I've bought a bluetooth hc-05 model without a breakout board (mistake).
Like this:HC-05 Bluetooth | Mbed.
I saw that I could order just the breakout board separately.
Is there anything else I could do? I thought about soldering to it a jumper wire or a male header, is it possible?
You'll probably find its 2mm pitch, not 0.1"...
Ok so no male header...
What about Awg 22 Cable?
You can still it just the way it is...
You dont get any voltage (divider) witht he bare-bones approach..
But in reality.. they work just fine.. it might be a PITA (at first) to get the module into programming (AT?) mode so you can change the board name, Baud rate.., password..etc..etc..
but once you get it done.. you dont really ever have to mess with it again.
I soldered wires directly to the module myself.. (actually I have about 20 or some of them still laying around)..
the daughter board is nice, dont get me wrong,. but it isnt "needed'.
Google for wiring diagrams. there are several on how to wire it up WITHOUT the daughter board.. (dont forget a voltage divider, even though some run without it!)
just insulate with tape or something to prevent the bluetooth pins shorting.. and simply solder or try to the module to the perboard then solder header pins or wires, just be careful not to short anything when aligning up, i'm waiting on a small FM module to try this very same technique.... if it clearly does not line up, use wires and solder them to the perfboard turning it into a odd looking spider.
Thank you cjdelphi and xl97
I will try it and post updateds
