hc-05 not discoverable on android

I am trying to pair with the HC-05 module. I was able to talk tot the device over AT commands. I can see the device on my PC but not on my Android phone. I tried multiple phones without success. I changed the class of the device to 0, but still cannot see the device. Anyone got around this problem?
I tried other device classes such as 100104 or 00001, that didn't help either

Okay, I was able to pair..phew

Could you please post how you solve it?
I have the same issue.
Thanks

If the LED on Bluetooth is flashing about 2Hz, as it should, this is not an Arduino problem and all your problems are at the Android end. One common problem at that end is lack of user patience. It can take several, seconds for Android to find Bluetooth, which seems like for ever.

If the LED is flashing slowly, about 0.5Hz, you are in AT mode, and are unable to communicate with anything. Disconnect power and start over.

I find the detection of HC-05 and HC-06 Bluetotth devices on Android devices intermittent.

Its the Android device thats the problem, some are just not very good at handling Bluetooth.

That's interesting...
I had a troublesome tablet several years ago that could see but ignored the HC-06. It was fine with a keyboard, and I think was also OK with an HC-05. It was only a cheapo tablet, and mercifully died soon after.
