It's blinking not fast or not long. I tried get in AT Mode but didn't work. Also I tried search bluetooth devices on my phone but phones doesn't shown my hc-05 module. Blinks 2 times in 1 sec or 1 time in 1 sec IDK. I need help !
The 3 flash patterns of HC05 (ZS-040) modules are:
- rapid on, off flash (2 Hz ish) = communication mode, not connected.
- rapid flashes (on, off, on, off, takes ≈ 1 second) then a pause (off) of ≈ 2 seconds >> communication mode, connected.
- slow flash, ≈2 seconds on, ≈2 seconds off = AT mode
What are you seeing?
Non of them. Blinking 2 times in one second. I can’t add video to forum for show that…
I upload it on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/arduino/comments/swp9ik/hc05_trouble/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
That is 2Hz, and just what you should expect - as described above. It means power on, ready to connect - to an Android phone.
How did you do this? If you can't see and pair the HC05 with the fast blink pattern you see in the android phone settings for connected devices then something is defective with the phone or module. Once paired, then you should be able to use a terminal app like Kai Morich's Serial Bluetooth Terminal.
Are you powering the HC05 with 5v?
Yes I supply with 5V. But first of all you should look video:https://www.reddit.com/r/arduino/comments/swp9ik/hc05_trouble/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf Not like 2Hz.
Not ready to connect. No device found on bluetooth search. I tried via Iphone, Android device and my notebook. Only blink red (not of 3 flash patterns) and do nothing.
I did look at your video, and the flash pattern certainly looks like 2Hz, that is flashing two times per second, to me. Ready to connect mode. Why the Android devices can not see it to pair is a mystery.

The pattern of rapid flashes (on, off, on, off, takes ≈ 1 second) then a pause (off) of ≈ 2 seconds you won't see until you connect in communication mode. It does not change after pairing.
The remaining patter is for AT mode which requires a special sequence of events to enter. Going into AT mode is used to change settings. It's possible that going into AT mode for a factory reset may help. I'm guessing here, but perhaps the device has previously been set up in master mode and can't be discovered.
If the HC05 a new device you may want to get a replacement. From following discussions on this forum it appears that there are defective cheap units in the market place.
DSD Tech products are warranted and have technical support. You will most likely get a better product than the cheapest unit you can on ebay or Alibaba. https://www.amazon.com/DSD-TECH-HC-05-Pass-through-Communication/dp/B01G9KSAF6)
I put pressure on my board top of chip (big one). It works now like a charm on 2Hz and can get in AT Mode. But when I plug off pressure on it, it relapses same problem again. Do you have any idea? It looks funny XD
Return to vendor and get a replacement.
