I am using the tutorial hello world, an LCD type HD44780, and UNO.
I have a 10k pot.
I can see the hello world and the seconds scrolling, but all is very dim even when i turn the pot.
It seems that there is no backgroundcolor.
Where should i look?

How about providing us with a photograph that clearly shows all of the connections between your LCD and your Arduino?

Was going to do it.
Actually i made it work and the problem seems to be that the tutorial from the Arduino do not show that you have to connect LCD pin 15 and 16.
Found on Google another sample where these 2 pins need to be connected, did it and it is working now.
